Triple / Quad Corner (Static)

< Pair Isolation

This technique can provide a very quick starting point in a game, if the correct configuration of cells exists of course!

Look for either:

  • four cells (in a 2x2 arrangement - a quad) of either the same number, or two different numbers but not arranged diagonally opposite, positioned in the corner-most cells of each of the corners of the board.

  • three cells of the same number, positioned in the corner-most cells of each of the corners of the board.

  • remember a quad can consist of two different numbers, but the two numbers must not be arranged diagonally opposite.

You can see that in this last example, no cell in the quadrant has any influence over the other cells unless they are painted (set) - but we can't deduce that any of these cells must be painted.
